PRE-RETIREMENT COUNSELING SESSION

Planning for retirement and choosing the right plan for you and your family can be overwhelming. There is a lot at stake and it is important that you understand all of your options, as well as the laws and regulations governing the distribution of your benefit.
 
We recommend all active members within 2 years of retirement schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our Retirement Planners to get a more in-depth look at the specifics of their situation. These sessions allow you to ask specific questions and receive printed estimates of your retirement benefits. You can schedule an appointment one of two ways: 1) look at the online calendar and register for a meeting in an area near you; or 2) call our office to schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor in our Atlanta office. You may bring a guest with you.
 
If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you do as far in advance as possible so we can accommodate another member in your place. You may cancel and reschedule by contacting TRS.
 
Who may attend?
Active members within 2 years of retirement.
 
Who presents the consultation?
TRS Retirement Planner.
 
How long does it last?
50 minutes; Appointments are available every hour on the hour (see calendar of events for locations, dates and times)
 
What should I bring with me?
Unused sick leave information, along with any other questions you have regarding your retirement.
