Getting to know Dina, the Director of Member Services!
Dina Jones is the Director of Member Services and has been with TRS for over 33 years. She manages 33 employees who are responsible for the one-on-one counseling of active members, providing cost calculations and benefit estimates, processing retirement and refund applications, and posting service payments. Dina is a graduate of Georgia State University with a BS in Business Administration. She began her career with TRS as a keypunch operator, receiving several promotions throughout her tenure with the organization.
Dina has one daughter, LeBrittney, and three godchildren, Fernando, Victor and Teriq. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys being team mom for her godchildren’s baseball, basketball and football teams. She loves the Atlanta Falcons and has been a season ticket holder for over 10 years. Dina also loves spending time outdoors with her daughter, walking, planting flowers, and shopping.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I enjoy spending time with my family and going to the Falcons and Hawks games.

Visit Paris, meet my favorite singer Charlie Wilson, and watch the Falcons win the Super Bowl.
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My high school typing teacher Ms. Huff. She taught me all about business.
What is your favorite sport and who is your favorite sports team?
My favorite sport is football and my favorite team is the Atlanta Falcons.
As a child, what did you wish to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a teacher.
If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
I would love to meet Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. because he accomplished so much in a peaceful manner.
How did you end up at TRS?
I saw the job opening on the State website, applied, interviewed, and got the job.
Who is your hero, and why?
My hero is my mother—she taught me about hard work, respect, and family.
What was your first job?
My first job was working in a factory in my hometown.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am proud of raising my daughter to be a hardworking and respectful young lady.
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to and why?
I would go back to 1980 because that’s the year I got married.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?
The power to move objects. I would allow the Falcons wide receivers to catch the ball each time and score touchdowns.
If you were invisible for a day, what would you do?
I would look in on my godchildren at school and see what they are doing.
What is your favorite thing about your career?
My favorite thing about my career is working at TRS and helping the members.
What is your favorite place you’ve traveled to in Georgia?
I love going to Savannah and just relaxing.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
In the South Pacific. I need to be warm.
