
Atlanta, GA – We are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Jason Branch to our TRS team. Beginning July 1, 2025, Jason will become our Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Executive Director. Dr. Branch is no stranger to the education community in Georgia as he has been a highly successful educational leader for many years. Most recently Jason has served for the past 13 years as superintendent of the highly successful Oconee County School System. Prior to his current position, he served as high school principal at South Forsyth High School and Chapel Hill High School.
Jason earned his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from the University of Georgia and his Specialist and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Educational Leadership from The University of Southern Mississippi. Jason has been involved in a number of impressive leadership development programs including being a graduate of the 2017 class of Leadership Georgia.
Dr. Branch has served in a number of leadership capacities at both the state and national level including stints as President of the Georgia School Superintendents Association, Board Member of the Georgia Association of Educators, and American Association of School Administrators, just to mention a few. Since 2018, Jason has served on the TRS of Georgia Board of Trustees where he is Vice‐Chairman and a member on both the Investment and Joint Management Committees.
Dr. Branch has presented at the local, state, and national levels on leadership development, strategic planning, technology, and instruction. He was a three‐time finalist for Georgia’s Superintendent of the Year award. Jason is also the 2019 recipient of the GSSA Bill Barr Leadership Award and the 2023 University of Georgia School of Education Lifetime Achievement Award. However, Jason’s greatest accomplishment is that of husband and father. He is married to Catherine and they are the proud parents of Abby and Jake.
His reputation among the educational community is one of high regard, and his many years of successful leadership experience will clearly serve the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia well for years to come.
